After waiting for more than one year due to the pandemic, Helbo Annemette and Olsson Sofie Amalie Meldal from Business Academy Aarhus, Denmark came to the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) for their internship at Faculty of Biology - Environment. They intend to study microplastic pollution in Da Nang and Vietnam.
Danish students at the UD - UED Laboratory
During their internship period at UD-UED, Danish students will study environmental problems in urban areas in Da Nang, the current situation and find out solutions to overcome the problems of environmental and microplastic pollution in some water bodies in Da Nang. The students expressed their hope that through studying and researching at UD-UED, they would get knowledge about microplastic pollution in general, and specific knowledge about researching the microplastic problem in Vietnam while learning to collaborate with people across language and culture differences.

In 2019, the above - mentioned students came to UD-UED for the academic exchange and this time they continued to choose UD-UED as the place for their internship. When asked about the reason for returning to UD-UED and Vietnam, they excitedly shared: “Because we gained great knowledge the last time, and we were allowed to do our own research in the laboratory, which is not as easily accessible in our home country. Moreover, last time we saw all the environmental problems this country is facing, so a change to research and hopefully contribute, was favorable to us”.
