UD-UED PARTICIPATED IN “2023 CHINA-ASEAN EDUCATION COOPERATION WEEK” IN CHINA

From 28/8 to 02/09/2023, The University of Danang – University of Science and Eduation (UD-UED) participated tin “2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (hereinafter referred to as CAECW) in Guizhou Province, China with the theme “New vision for education cooperation, Common prosperity for Belt and Road”.

At the event, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Luu Trang – Rector of the university made a speech on “Cooperation in human resources training between Vietnamese universities and Chinese and ASEAN partners: A cases study from UD-UED”.
On behalf of the University, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Luu Trang – Rector of the university expressed the deep gratitude to the Organizing Committee for the invitation. In the speech, the Rector affirmed “UD-UED has a 20-year tradition of cooperation in human resources training with partners from China and Southeast Asia with language programs, undergraduate and post graduate programs”.

Nowadays, the deep integration into the global economy has created conditions for better education, education towards comprehensiveness; in order to improve and create the quality of education, there need to be different factors, of which international cooperation in education is a very important and long-term pillar in the common development of Vietnamese education and the University. For the University, during more than 20 years of cooperation, the University has recorded great successes in international cooperation in education and training. In particular, the University has had cooperation programs in training, exchange of lecturers, students and joint training programs between the University and partners of China and ASEAN countries. Specifically, as for the cooperation with China, the university has established relationships with partners such as: Yunnan Normal University, Guizhou Minzu University, Nanning Normal University, … As for cooperation with ASEAN, the university has established relationships with partners from countries such as Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia.. So far, there have been nearly 1,500 Laotian and Cambodian bachelors, masters, and doctors who have graduated from the university. The above students have become key human resources in the government apparatus, contributing to the socio-economic development of these countries.
On this occasion, UD-UED wished to further develop human resource training cooperation between the University and Chinese and ASEAN partners. At the same time, the University would constantly improve the capacity of staff, lecturers, scientists as well as facilities to better serve cooperation with partners from China and ASEAN.
In his speech, the Rector also affirmed that UD-UED will provide scholarships to attract talented people to study, research and teach at the University and enhance the academic environment so that students, researchers and experts from ASEAN and China have the opportunity to develop their capacity in the training and research environment at the University.
2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (hereinafter referred to as CAECW) is hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of P. R. China, Ministry of Education of P. R. China, and Guizhou Provincial People's Government, organized by Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, and The Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, and co-organized by Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and ASEAN-China Centre (ACC).
2023 marks the 16th anniversary of CAECW. This year CAECW will kick off on Aug. 28- Sept. 2 in Guizhou Province of P. R. China on the theme “New vision for education cooperation, Common prosperity for Belt and Road”. It will hold the opening ceremony of 2023 CAECW and a series of thematic parallel sessions including but not limited to higher education, technical and vocational education and training, basic education, preschool education, sustainable development cooperation, industry-education-research-application cooperation, youth exchange.
