Meeting with the University of Western Australia
In order to strengthen international cooperation in training, scientific research, especially the development of joint training programs as well as staff and student exchange, on the afternoon of June 24th, 2022, the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) had a meeting with the representatives of the University of Western Australia.
Attending the meeting, there were the leaders from UD-UED: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Nguyen Van Sang, Deputy Head of Department of Science and International Cooperation and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Dean of Faculty of Physics. The delegation of the University of Western Australia, led by Prof. Jennifer Howell, Vice President of the University of Western Australia included Ms. Milly Ingate, Deputy Head of Department of International Cooperation, Mr. Dave Connell, Faculty International Adviser and Prof. Yinong Liu, Lecturer of Faculty of Engineering.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Minh and the other members of the University discussed with delegation of the University of Western Australia the issues related to Project 89, exchange of lecturers and students between the two universities, cooperation in research and construction of large projects to apply for the funding from the governments of the two countries, and the development of 2+2 or 3+1 joint programs. Accordingly, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Van Minh hoped to receive the support and sharing of the delegation of the University of Western Australia in accepting lecturers and students of the University of Danang - University of Science and Education under Project 89 as well as developing and organizing online or face-to-face English courses and academic exchanges for lecturers and students of the University. In addition, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Van Minh also wished to be able to soon build a joint training program and cooperate with the University of Western Australia in the development of national and international research projects.
The representative of the University of Western Australia, Prof. Jennifer Howell, Vice President of the University of Western Australia also expressed her pleasure to work with the University and jointly find out areas of mutual interest for future cooperation. Prof. Jennifer Howell said that the University of Western Australia is very keen on Project 89 and will support 35% of tuition fees for lecturers enrolled under Project 89. In addition, Prof. Jennifer Howell also hoped that after the meeting, the two sides will continue to discuss cooperation issues through the contact representatives of the two universities.
