On May 10, 2024, the Introduction of Indian and Vietnamese Cultures took place at University of Danang - University of Science and Education ( UD- UED) . This program was organized by the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Da Nang City and the Union of Friendship Organizations in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam , the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center under the Indian Embassy, UD-UED and related units.
Attending the program, there was the participation of the leaders from Union of Friendship Organizations, The Alliance of Arts and Literature Associations; the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Da Nang City; Department of Education and training; City Police; the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center; Department of Science and International Cooperation - UD Vice-Rector of UD-UED and the representatives of the member universities of UD.

Making the speech at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Nho Khiem, Vice Chairman of The Alliance of Arts and Literature Associations, Chairman of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of the city extenđ the sincere gratitude to the Board of Rectors and relevant faculties and departments of UD-UED for the enthusiastic support and coordination to successfully organize the program.

Expressing the gratitude and welcoming the delegates and dinstinguished guests participating in the program, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, UD-UED Vice-Rector said that the program on the Introduction of Indian and Vietnamese Cultures was an activity with profound meaning. He shared: “ Furthermore, in the current context of globalization and international integration, through this activity, the university will continue to coordinate with Friendship Associations inside and outside Da Nang city to maximize the benefits of digital platforms, increase meetings, cultural and artistic exchanges in many different forms, scholarship programs and promote scientific and educational exchanges in the coming time”.

Introducing the Indian culture, cuisine, and scholarship programs, Dr. Monica Sharma, Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center said: “The Indian Embassy in Vietnam is currently offering scholarships within the framework of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program. This includes short-term training courses in the 2024 - 2025 academic year, to improve staff capacity in fields such as finance - banking, administration - management, information technology - communications, agriculture and rural development, women's empowerment, engineering, forensic science, cyber security... Each scholarship will include visa fees, tuition, materials, living expenses, accommodation and Round-trip economy class airfare.”
Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center made an introduction on the Indian culture, cuisine, and scholarship programs .
The program also included a presentation by researcher Tran Ky Phuong on "History of Vietnam and India relations: Viewed from the art of the Champa Kingdom” and discussion by translator Bui Xuan on "Indian literature and the reception of Tagore's poetry in Vietnam".

To enrich the resources of UD-UED Library, the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of the city gave UD-UED the Poetry Collection "Spring Flowers" that the Association had just compiled and also the special issue "India - Da Nang - Bridges of Friendship and Cooperation". The Introduction of Indian and Vietnamese Cultures is an opportunity for UD-UED students to get knowledge and information on the research on the long-standing cultural relationship between Vietnam and India, thereby, contributing to strengthening solidarity, friendship, and understanding between the two peoples.

This is also a practical activity to strengthen international cooperation in training, scientific research and academic and cultural exchanges of the University. It is a very meaningful event for lecturers and students of the University in general and those who love and are interested in India in particular to interact and learn about the unique culture of this country.
