Meeting with the Sumimoto Foundation, Japan

In order for the lecturers to have information on research grants from the Sumimoto Foundation, on June 19, 2023 the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) had a meeting with the representative of the Sumimoto Foundation.

At the meeting, from UD-UED, there was the participation of Dr. Nguyen Quy Tuan, Head of Department of Science and International Cooperation, the Deans of Faculty of Literature and Linguistics, Faculty of History, Faculty of Geography, Faculty of Psychology and Education, and the lecturers as well as students from the faculties.
From the Sumimoto Foundation, there was the participation of Mr. Kenichi Hamaya, the representative of the Sumimoto Foundation.      
Making the speech at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Quy Tuan representing the university extended the warm greetings to Mr. Kenichi Hamaya. Dr. Nguyen Quy Tuan made an introduction on the university as well as outstanding features of  UD-UED.

At the meeting. Mr. Kenichi Hamaya expressed the gratitude to the University's leaders for taking the time to welcome him. He also made a presentation on the grants and application procedure. He also shared the experience in grant application and cooperation with the Sumimoto Foundation.
The Sumitomo Foundation is a non-profit grant-making organization, was established on September 25, 1991 by 20 companies of the Sumitomo Group (serving as donors) to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Besshi Copper Mine in Shikoku, Japan. The purpose of the Foundation is to contribute to the betterment of human society. To this end, grants shall be made to the projects in a variety of fields or disciplines whose aims are to determine or help solve those problems which confront humanity.

During the meeting, the representative of the Sumitomo Foundation - Mr. Kenichi Hayama took time to share more deeply about the Foundation, its purpose, meaning as well as how to apply for the grants. Besides, he gave answers to the questions made by the university lecturers. He really hoped that the Foundation will receive some proposals from UD-UED.
