Lao traditional Bunpimay Festival 2566 at the University of Danang – University of Science and Education

On the afternoon of April 7, the Danang Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang city, and the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) held Lao Bunpimay Festival 2566 at UD-UED campus.
Attending the ceremony of the festival, there was the participation of Mr. Ho Ky Minh - the Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang - Lao Consul General in Da Nang city and the representatives of foreign consular agencies in the city.
From UD-UED, there was the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang - the Rector of the University.
Making the speech at the ceremony of the festival, Mr. Ho Ky Minh - the Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee sent his best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to the leaders, officials, people and students of Laos who are studying and working in Da Nang.
Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee shared that celebrating Lao Bunpimay Festival is a meaningful activity to share joy with Lao friends in the bustling and warm atmosphere of the traditional Tet and it is an opportunity for the people of the two countries to better understand each other's culture and customs.
Lao Bunpimay Festival is a people-to-people relations event of important political significance, held annually. This year, the festival was held on the largest scale ever in the city.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang - Rector of the University said “Today, we share the joys of Laos and Lao people as well as Lao students studying at higher education institutions in Da Nang city and celebrate Bunpimay 2566. Surely this event will bring a lot of meaning to the friendship between Vietnam and Laos, and will leave significant messages for the Lao students.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang emphasized, “Food stalls blending Vietnamese and Lao cultures as well as special art performances by Lao students and Vietnamese staff and students will bring deep impressions and a very traditional but extremely modern festival space to the festival, expressing the interference, acculturation, and above all, the identity of a country full of love and affection."
In addition to the cultural and political diplomatic significance, the festival is also a spiritual gift that the authorities and people of Da Nang would like to send to the leaders, officials and employees of the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang and the Lao people as well as students living, working and studying in the city, helping them relieve their homesickness and feel the warm and sincere affection that their Vietnamese and Da Nang friends have for them.
