University of Education – The University of Danang achieved the excellent result in the 2017 National Mathematical Olympiad for students

The Mathematical Olympiad team of University of Education – The University of Danang (UE – UD) won 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes in the 2017 National Mathematical Olympiad for students.

Particularly, student Dong Dac Tai (Faculty of Mathematics, EU – UD) was one of 13 excellent candidates winning the first prize in both subjects. The concrete information was as follows:

* 2 First Prizes: Calculus and Algebra (Student Dong Dac Tai).

* 3 Second Prizes: Algebra (Students Tran Ngoc Anh Huy, Nguyen Tran Quyen, Tran Le Thuong).

* 3 Third Prizes: Algebra (Students Mai Nguyen Minh Hoang, Le Hoang Nhuan, Nguyen Van Trung Tin).

The Mathematical Olympiad team of UE – UD included 7 contestants led by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thanh, lecturer of Faculty of  Mathematics.

The Olympiad competition was held from April 11th to 15th at Phu Yen University with the participation of 660 contestants from 80 teams of universities, colleges and gifted high schools in the whole country. All Contestants participated in the two subjects (Algebra and Analysis).

In the 2017 Olympiad competition, there were 67 first prizes, 116 second prizes, 156 third prizes in mathematical calculus and algebra, especially 7 valedictorian in algebra, calculus and mathematics and 13 outstanding students won first prize in both subjects. According to the organization board, the National Mathematical Olympiad for studentsin 2018 will be held in Quang Binh province.
