University of Science and Education holds the Opening Ceremony of academic year 2021-2022

In harmony with the whole country’s new school year, on the morning of November 4, 2021, the University of Danang - University of Science and Education solemnly held the opening ceremony of academic year 2021 - 2022.
This is the most special opening ceremony in the more than 45-year history of the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED)because for the first time the ceremony has been held in the face-to-face form combined with the online form. With the online form, the opening ceremony gathered a large number of students. This is the clearest evidence for the solidarity, consensus and connection of generations of students of the University, so that the "UED torch" blazes and spreads to all parts of the country.
   Attending the ceremony, there was the participation of the representative of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city, Mr. Mai Tan Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training. There were also representatives of businesses including: Ms. Vien Thi Hong Hanh - Deputy Director of Da Nang Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Hai Van branch; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong – Deputy Director of AGRIBANK, Lien Chieu branch; Ms. Phan Thi Linh Ngoc - Deputy Director of Vietinbank North Danang Branch; Mr. Le Quoc Binh - Director of The Vinh design and construction company. From the side of the University of Danang and its member educational institutions, there were representatives: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phat - Rector of Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy - Vice Rector of University of Economics. From the side of the University of Danang - University of Science and Education, the participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang - Secretary of the University Party Committee, Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach – Vice Rector of the University; Dr. Bui Bich Hanh - Vice Rector of the University, and members of the university Party Committee, the Youth Union, the Student Association; and 70 students representing more than 8000 students of the University.

At the beginning of the ceremony, on behalf of the University's leaders Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang - Rector of the University delivered the opening speech and beat the drum to start the new academic year 2021 - 2022. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang congratulated the new students on their passing the entrance exam and choosing UD-UED as the place for making their dreams come true. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Trang emphasized: “In the academic year 2020-2021, the application of information technology to teaching and learning in all disciplines and levels of the University entered the professional stage… Research activities of lecturers and students of the University gained high achievements. Students won high prizes in the Conferences on Students’Research at all levels. The number of publications in domestic and foreign journals by lecturers and scientists of the University increased by 30% compared to that in the academic year 2019-2020. International cooperation including staff  and student exchange also prospered. Following the last academic year, in this academic year, the University has attracted as well as awarded scholarships to students from foreign institutions that are partners of the University to take undergraduate and post-graduate programs at the university”.

Making a speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang warmly praised and recognized the achievements that the staff and students had achieved in the past academic year 2020 - 2021, especially in  the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son expressed his hope that in the new academic year 2021 - 2022, the University will continue to promote its core values to flexibly adapt to the "new normal" context to successfully fulfill its goals and academic year plan.

Also at the ceremony, the University also honored new students with high scores  and the students with outstanding achievements in study and many other extracurricular activities. In particular, the University honored and awarded the "UED Inspiration " scholarship to 19 new students.

This year's opening ceremony took place in a joyful, exciting and solemn atmosphere with many special emotional highlights. With the enthusiasm of the staff of the University and the efforts of students, UD-UED is determined to fulfill the tasks for the academic year 2021-2022 excellently, continuing to affirm its role as a prestigious educational institution across the country, in order to realize the Vision to 2030 that UD-UED will have become a national key teacher education institution.
